Rental Requirements

1.- Passport.
2.- Valid driver license. A foreing driver license is valid in Costa Rica for 90 days.
3.- Minimum age for rental is 23 years old.
4.- Major credit card (AMEX, VISA, MASTER CARD) with credit enough to cover the deductible (excess) of the chosen insurance, plus the value of the rental.

 

Rental: Terms & Conditions

1.- Rental  period is 24 hours.
2.- After 4 hours of late car return, you will be charged with the daily rate.
3.- Cars can not be taken out of Costa Rica.
4.- The cost of the additional driver is: US$ 3.
5.- No debit cards or cash are accepted for the deposit.
6.- Adobe Rent a car offers meet and greet service at the airport when exact flight details are provided. Renter will be received at external arrival gates by an Adobe Rent a Car representative.
7.- When flight details are not provided, the customer may call upon arrival for free shuttle service available in San Jose Airport and in Liberia airport.
8.- Complimentary delivery of the car to your hotel in the cities we attend.

 

Reservations: Terms & Conditions

1.- Even if our online reservation system will confirm your booking,  to guarantee it, a credit card is required.   Our staff will contact you over the phone or by e-mail, right after you made the reservation in order to obtain your information and assist you with any other question you may have about your rental.  You also can call us or write to info@cahuita.cr
2.- A reservation will be cancelled after 24 hours without credit card information.

 

Cancellation Policy

 A cancelation notice  is required at least 72 hours upon scheduled arrival in order to avoid one day charge penalty

 

Basic Insurance

1.- Responsibility waiver for any damage caused to the rented vehicle due to collision or roll over.
2.- Responsibility waiver for total or partial theft.
3.- Liability insurance for third party property damage.
4.- Liability insurance for third party injury or death.
5.- Deductible for damages and theft: US$1000.00 . Coverage: the value of the damage.
6.- Deductible for third party property damage: 20%. Maximum coverage: 30 million colones.
7.- No deductible for injury or death of third persons. Maximum coverage: 175 million colones per event.

Supplemental Insurance

SDW Insurance (Supplemental damage waiver)

It is additional to the Basic Insurance. It extends the coverage of the rental car to:

1.- Vandalism.
2.- Towing of the rental car.
3.- Mapfre specialized road assistance 24 hours at no extra cost.
4.- Tires and cristals.

Deductible: with the SDW there is no deductible (excess) in damages to the rental car.

SLI Insurance (Supplemental Liability Insurance)

It is additional to the Basic Insurance. It extends the liability insurance to:

1.- Maximum coverage of 2 million dollares.

Deductible: with the SLI there is no deductible (excess) in the liability insurance.

 

Coverage exclusions

1.- When the driver has any incident and is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
2.- When the vehicle suffers damages and the driver is not authorized in the rental contract.
3.- Damages of any type caused by driving thru rivers,lakes, beaches,flooded roads or off-road.
4.- Fail in the obligation to provide Adobe Rent a Car the accident report given by the Dirección General de Tránsito and the accident report with the Instituto Nacional de Seguros.
5.- Fail to report the accident to Adobe Rent a Car immediately after the event takes place.
