About Cahuita

Cahuita is a small town in the southern Caribbean of Costa Rica, and belongs to the province of Limón. There is an Afro-Caribbean culture that gives rise to a diversity of experiences. Cahuita offers a wide variety of accommodations for different budgets (from budget lodging to luxurious rooms). You can stay in a cabin, a bungalow, a hotel, resort, etc. There are also hotels with swimming pool and beachfront. In Cahuita you will find a wide variety of restaurants and sodas with different types of food: Caribbean, International, Fusion, etc. to enjoy meat, fish and local foods as well as international. Do not forget to try the famous Caribbean "Patis" and the Caribbean "Rice & Beans" on Sundays. |

The best time of year weather wise to travel to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is September and October. The weather is always sunny and warm and the ocean is always clear and calm. Perfect for snorkeling, diving, kayaking, swimming, fishing and any water sport other than surfing.
Cahuita is known for its famous National Park and its beaches.
Its famous coral reef can be visited for snorkeling. The park also offers a variety of animals (monkeys, sloths, caimans, toucans, etc.).
There is an average temperature all year round 27 degrees Celsius (81 degrees F).
